The state of Georgia has many natural resources. Some of the natural resources are non-renewable and some are renewable. Those include forests and lumber, rivers and lakes, coastal shores, marshes and wetlands, farmland, marble, minerals, manganese, iron ore, copper, coal, oil, clays, stone, kaolin, sand, gravel, fish, game, and a lot of wildlife.
Throughout Georgia, forests and lumber are abundant and can be found in a lot of places, for example, Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The forest carry a lot of wildlife like, Black Bears and Red Foxes. Rivers and lakes are also very abundant, such as, the Chattahoochee River and West Point Lake. Coastal shores are located within the eastern coast of the state. Those shores carry a lot, such as fish and sand. A Marsh is an area in which is flooded in wet seasons or high tides. Wetlands are an area that consists of swamps and marshes. Marble is a hard crystalline metamorphic form of limestone. Minerals are found in the ground or in lakes and rivers. Manganese is the black dioxide which is an industrial raw material or additive, especially in glassmaking. Iron ore is a rock or mineral from which iron can be profitably extracted. Copper is a red-brown metal, which is used as many things, like building construction. Coal is found in mines and used as fuel. Oil is yet another resource used as fuel. Clays are also found in Georgia. Stone is very high in quantity in Georgia and is used as building material. Kaolin is used for making porcelain and china. Gravel is a loose aggregation of small water-worn or pounded stones
