Georgia has 5 geographic Regions. Those include Appalachian Plateau, Valley and Ridge, Blue Ridge, Piedmont, and Coastal Plain. The Appalachian Plateau is located in northwest corner of Georgia. It extends from New York and continues throughout Alabama. Rocks that are found in The Appalachian Plateau are mostly Sedimentary. The Valley and Ridge is located in the northwest of Georgia, east of the Appalachian Plateau. It splits into four parts which are Cumberland Plateau, Great Valley, Armuchee Ridges, and Chickamauga Valley. The Blue Ridge is located Northeast, east of Valley and Ridge. The Brasstown Bald Mountain is located in the Blue Ridge, which has the tallest peak in Georgia of 4,784 feet. The Piedmont is located in the central part of Georgia. The region goes through Alabama to South Carolina. The Piedmont ends in the fall line. The Coastal Plains are located in the Southern part of Georgia. The Coastal plains have 2 parts which are the lower and upper. The upper part is the agriculture and the lower part is the Swamps and Atlantic Ocean.
